I just finished this one this morning. The artwork is a mix of digital painting and photography based on photos from a shoot I did with Vanessa Pintea, the same model from my recent painting "Fearless". She's got very strong, fierce and clear sort of eyes, which really comes across awesome in this type of artwork. I think it has a powerful impact on the general theme I try to convey with these portraits. Maintaining strength and beauty through troubled times. Refusing defeat, and moving forward stronger with each step. A sort of hope through Chaos.
I think this is something everyone can relate and aspire to.
For anyone wanting to sign up to my mailing list, I'm giving away a free full resolution digital download of "Born for Battle". It's a very large image, 9000 x 6750 300dpi, and I figured it would be interesting for people to be able to zoom right in to see the details and brushwork.
